Do you dress your child in plastic?

Polyester/Nylon/Acrylic = Plastic

I know none of us wants to think about dressing our children in plastic but alas...so many of the available baby and toddler clothes on the market are made of just that.

YIKES!

How is that possible? Well, it's actually pretty easy to turn plastic into fabric.

Plastic pellets are melted down and then extruded into fibers which are then woven into textiles.

When you're shopping for your child's clothes, keep an eye out for these fibers in the content:

-Polyester
-Nylon
-Acetate
-PU
-Acrylic
-Microfiber
-Acetate

Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of convenience associated with plastic fibers. They don't stain easily, don't wrinkle, hold up to a ton of wear and tear...

But they also don't break down. Like, for hundreds and hundreds of years.

Beya Made clothes are (mostly) made from linen fibers, which biodegrade in a landfill in around two weeks.

Although, I must say I've done my darn-dest to design them in such a way they'll NEVER end up in a landfill!
