HOW I'M REDUCING KITCHEN WASTE
July 27, 2019
This month we are going green in the kitchen! Well, the kitchen sink, to be exact
Between the dish soap, the sponges, the brushes, the scrubbers...there are a lot of things to buy and continually replace when it comes to doing dishes--most of them plastic. Even when you ALREADY have a dish-washer!
You'll be pretty pleased to know that replacing some of these disposable tools is NOT a big investment up front. Turns out just a few good choices in the beginning can make your dish-washing routine a lot more sustainable!

$12.50
When I was young, I used to hang out in bars. Now I USE bars...on EVERYTHING! I was pretty psyched when I found out that you can now buy dish soap in bar form...and just one of these bars can replace up to 6 bottles of dish liquid.
(That's $22.50 worth of Dawn for you detail-oriented types)

$2.49
You're still going to need something absorbent for your countertops...enter the WALNUT sponge! Made from walnut shells, cellulose and recycled plastic--this sponge is tough on messes, gentle to the planet
GRAND TOTAL: $25
Know how much you would have spent if you had bought the disposable stuff?
$19.37
I don't know about you, but I would say that extra $5.63 is money VERY well spent!!!
Got some more good tips and tricks for more sustainable dish-washing???
