This costume is straight UP genius. Just be sure you dispose of your balloons properly--pop them first. Latex is biodegradable, but it can wreak havoc on wildlife if you release them into the wild. Get this DIY tutorial HERE.

BABYWEARING FOR THE WIN!

This one is the winner for me, because it combines 2 things I love--upcycling and babywearing! Plus it's perfect for the upcoming debate season. See more parents-and-me costume ideas HERE.

Here's the runner-up. Use your own discarded sports drink bottles & solo cups or scavenge them, this jet pack is so gosh-darn impressive!!! Get the super easy instructions HERE.

BEYA BABES DO IT BEST

But you know who has the best ideas of all? Beya Made customers. I asked a few to share their DIY costumes of years past and I was blown away at their ingenuity.

Jessica used the leaves from a silk plant she no longer wanted, thrifted a flower lei and made the CUTEST Maui costume for her guy.

Beya Made stitcher-in-chief Sarah looked no further than her laundry room for inspiration. I love this box-turned-dryer costume!

Black jammies + goggles + felt flippers = BEST BABY COSTUME EVER! Beya Made ambassador Emily is a genius, and that's a fact.

The grand prize winner has got to be Laura, who re-purposed her un-recyclable Blue Apron box insulator into a robot costume. HIGH-FIVING A MILLION ANGELS, LAURA!!!
