A PERFECTLY NEUTRAL NURSERY
January 7, 2019
Remember when deciding not to learn your child's sex meant being doomed to a yellow nursery?
NOT SO IN 2019!!!
Gone are the days of yellow or grey walls, and endlessly searching for nursery accessories that aren't overly gendered and inappropriate. The latest trend has a vintage, bohemian vibe and it's PERFECT for a boy or a girl.
FIRST THINGS FIRST--WHY NEUTRAL?
Sure, some parents still decide not to learn their baby's sex in utero (how they cope with the anticipation I'll never know) but there's a super practical reason not to spend a bunch of money on pink or blue--money. Setting up the perfect room is expensive, and if your second child happens to be a different sex than your first...DOUBLE THAT.
When you design your room with neutrality in mind, it's not only stylish, it's cost effective.
I was born in the 70's, so the re-emergence of macrame and rattan gives me ALL the feels. Not to mention this style doesn't seem so "baby" that it can't be re-purposed elsewhere in your home once your little ones get their own ideas about what their space should be.
DUSTY PASTELS ARE FOR EVERYONE!
Opting for neutral doesn't have to mean forsaking color--the dusty pastel nursery trend feels Euro-chic and cozy-calm
Blue is SO not just for boys. Navy nurseries are crazy chic, and navy matches literally every other color so you can be extra creative with your accessories!
Botanical-themed nurseries are the perfect neutral, and an extra bonus is that houseplants will clean the air in your kiddo's room naturally!
That fresh spring green with the black and white accessories is ON POINT, no?!
I MADE YOU A PINTEREST BOARD!
WANT MORE NEUTRAL INSPIRATION?
But that's all I got for today! If you have any other suggestions I should add here, SEND ME A NOTE!
